Have you installed new injectors to upgrade your MACK E7 engine's power, only to find the gains disappointing for the cost and effort? This is a common complaint we hear, but the good news is we have the solution! Increasing the injector nozzle size helps when you're looking to boost power, BUT it doesn't solve the root cause of the MACK's low-power driveability. The main issue lies in the fuel scheduling the factory uses. Like most diesel engines, there are several tables that calculate fuel scheduling—primarily using BOOST PRESSURE, ENGINE RPM, and CALCULATED LOAD. The way MACK sets these up relies on exhaust volume to spool the turbo, whereas most other manufacturers use the thermal content of exhaust gas to spool the turbo sooner. This method gives them more LOW-END POWER, a wider power band, better throttle response, and an all-around better driving experience. This is why MACK trucks seem to have such a narrow power band—but it can be corrected with custom ECU tuning! You'll need to remove the ECU from the side of the engine and ship it to our location for this tuning service. If you use standard next-day air with UPS or FedEx, we receive packages by around 10:30am and can generally get them tuned and shipped back out the SAME DAY!
