(2013/2014 is a split year in ECM models. The easiest way to determine if you need the 2008-2013.5 unit is to check your diagnostic connector under the dash. If it's round, you need the 2008-2013.5 HDT-VolvoPM unit. If it's rectangular, you need the HDT-Volvo14+ unit.)
This unit plugs directly into your engine computer and optimizes injector timing and fuel quantities, improving throttle response and lowering the torque curve by spooling the turbocharger faster.

True plug-and-play installation using factory ECU connectors—takes less than 20 minutes. Simply connect one end of the HDT wiring to the "A" connector on your ECU and the other end to the factory wiring harness. If you own a 2024 model truck, please note this is a split year. Some trucks sold as 2025 models came equipped with 2024 engines. Before ordering, take a moment to locate your ECM and check for the extra cast ribbing shown in the pics below. This is a new ECM and is not compatible with the HDT-Volvo14+ wiring harness. Even though they look similar, the new model wiring harness has a RED release handle to help you identify which version you have.
